Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit
By Adam Simon - April 1st 2010 10:56 pm

Killer new album from the former Drive-by Truckers singer-songwriter- guitarist who quit that band a few years ago to do his own thing, which has finally resulted in this sensational debut album.
Truckers fans will recognise the mix of rock, country and soul that Jason employs - he is after all himself a native of Muscle Shoals, Alabama - but his songwriting and arranging is tighter and more melodic than the Truckers. In better radio days half the tracks here would have had airplay. One of the 4 Australian bonus tracks - a perfect cover of Big Star's 'My Baby's Beside Me' - is pretty indicitive of Jason's musical direction.
As mentioned above, Shock's release of this album has 4 BONUS TRACKS - the Big Star cover, and, for limited time only, 3 acoustic versions of album tracks.

Love Like Crazy
Once better known as a songwriter rather than a singer, all it took for Lee Brice to get his debut album released was a #1 endorsement by a man named Garth and a whole batch of great songs, which Brice has now recorded and finally released on Love Like Crazy.
