Gotta Go Country Vol 4
By Adam Simon - January 7th 2010 10:23 am

The last 12 months has been a stellar year for many Australian artists and this latest compilation from Compass Bros Records features some of their finest work. From the anthem that is Adam Brand's Hell Of A Ride to the softer, poignant history found in Paul Costa's Survivor 1932, the fourth installation in the Gotta Go Country series is a must have for any fan of good music.
One of the standout features of this compilation is the healthy mix between new artists just starting to make their impact like StarMaker Liam Brew's Girls With Girlfriends through to country music veterans like James Blundell, who features here with the title track from his last album, Portrait Of A Man, which this writer feels is one of the strongest tracks of Blundell's career.
Other artists to feature on Gotta Go Country Vol 4 include Jetty Road, The Sunny Cowgirls, Kirsty Lee Akers and Harmony James. Felicity Urqhart sings about her Two Wheels with great passion, whilst Adam Brand also features a few of his duets, teaming up with The Sunny Cowgirls on Someday, as well as showcasing two of the tracks from the 2008 Compass Bros House Concert, where he and Blundell are joined by the entire label roster for their signature tunes of Good Friends and the timeless Way Out West.
Gotta Go Country Vol 4 also comes on DVD, featuring all 20 film clips of the superb array of tracks that also feature on the CD.
